Enter 2025

I'm not one to join the 'new year resolution' bandwagon, but what I do at the end of each year is look at new challenges and goals.

As someone whose life is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, one of my biggest goals for this year is completing the Jiu Jitsu sports hijab I've been working on. I'm SO CLOSE to the finish line, I can't wait for more Muslim girls to get their hands on it and get grappling!

Another goal I have is to make it to three 5:30 AM BJJ classes per week. Yup, you heard me, I'm part of the 5 AM Club, and I love it. Getting your training done in the early morning sets the tone for the rest of the day.

One of the BIGGEST challenges that lies ahead, is taking care of my health and wellness as I inch closer and closer to 40.

Entering your late 30s brings about unique health challenges and priorities, particularly for women. Hormonal shifts, metabolic changes, and lifestyle demands often necessitate a closer look at how we fuel our bodies. Carnivore eating—focusing on meat and animal-based products—can be a powerful tool for addressing these challenges.

I’m sorry, not sorry to all the animal loving vegans and vegetarians out there, but the carnivore lifestyle has brought a lot of health benefits to my life and I won’t apologize for it. I believe that Allah has put cattle and sheep on the Earth for us to enjoy and I will enjoy them!

As a 30-something-year-old woman who practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, I've experienced first hand how this lifestyle improves energy, mental clarity, and performance. By eliminating processed foods and focusing on nutrient-dense proteins, carnivore eating can help women manage inflammation, maintain muscle mass, and even stabilize hormones. The key is consistency and embracing a simple, sustainable approach to eating.

Since I’m hitting 40 in a few years inshallah, paying close attention to my health, fitness, my mindset, and my goals has never been more important. I don’t want to enter the next decade of my life with no changes. Allah gave me TIME, and if I’m not using it well and nourishing the body he gave me, then what excuse will I use when I stand in front of Him when my body speaks for me? Remember, our body has rights over us.

So do it right, and do it now. Cheers!
